This site is a home for the things I spend my time on outside of work: mountain biking in the hills around the San Francisco Bay Area, high‑altitude climbing and trekking in ranges like the Karakoram and the Himalaya, traveling the world, working on amateur radio, hiking in the Sierra Nevada of California and keeping track of the extended von Kaenel family.
